I have been riding since I was 12 years old. I have always aspired to do the bigger shows but have never had the means to do so. I have settled for less in the years past when it came to my goals with horse showing.
My heart horse, Joey (pictured on the left) took me around for just under 11 years. He got me training up into the 3’ division before we decided he needed to retire.
I made the difficult decision to move off of him and to keep moving up with my goals and get Oberon.
Oberon is an incredible horse and is teaching me great things. We have done multiple different things including stepping into the jumper ring, which I would have never pictured myself doing.
Nursing
I am also a full time registered nurse. I work full time night shift. I have to spread myself equally between work, social life, and at the barn. I can tell you that I am not very good at it. I spend majority of the time at the barn, and I prefer it that way.
Animal Lover
I have lots of animals that I adore. I rescued a dog with my boyfriend about 2 years ago who was hit by a car. She has to wear diapers due to the nerve damage in her spine. She has fecal and urinary incontinence but I couldn’t imagine a better dog in my life.
Other Hobbies
I am a huge nerd. I love spending my time reading and listening to podcasts. I love to learn new things. I recently have been investing my time into something I have been developing on the side that I will hopefully be writing about in this blog also, so stay tuned.
